What you need to do if you are victim of Cyberbullying in school:
Talk to your teacherTalk to your parents
Talk to the anti-bullying team
ASK FOR HELP! DO NOT ISOLATE YOURSELF
Some advices IF YOU ARE CYBERBULLIED (Smith, 2007, Willard 2006)
Don’t answer harassing and offensive emails or sms
Don’t answer to those who insult you and make fun of you
Don’t answer to those who offend you in a chat room or “kicks you out” of it
Save offensive messages (SMS, MMS. E-mail)
Make a note of the day, the time when you received the message
Change your nickname
Change your mobile number and give it only to those few you trust
Use filters to block harassing emails
Never disclose personal information (name, last name, address, etc)
If someone in the chat room asks to meet you, answer NO, THANKS!
Talk immediately with an adult about it (parents and/or teachers)
In the event of physical or sexual threats, contact the police
Take part in the project “PEER EDUCATION”
ONLY IF YOU ARE AT LEAST 14
Peer education is a technique of approach worldwide which aims to make young people responsible and give them a main role towards preventing and fighting Bullying and Cyberbullying.
Every year our Team creates, in Rome and Cagliari, a group of male and female students who, once learnt the relevant skills, has the responsibility to teach and widespread among other students in the school, everything the have learnt.
The training Course lasts a day (6 hours)You can also gain credits towards your scholastic education.
